Dixon Atkins

Dixon's research focused on how the mechanical environment affected the development of a more aggressive disease state in pancreatic cancer. Using PDAC cell lines and a mechanically-tunable 3D microgel environment coupled with high-throughput sequencing, his project sought to understand how mechanical stiffening in PDAC results in genome rearrangement and changes in transcription. Dixon is starting as a research postdoc at Amgen.
